Anyone know of any restaurants with a cork fee? That is, I pay a small bit and can bring my own wine?

Thank you.

What city are you in?

Most family run places will probably let you bring your own bottle for free if you ask nicely, can't see them turning away the business.

This is true. Go into a Korean place and ask for wine. When they say they don't have any, ask if you can drink your own. I've done this loads of times, especially at sea food restaurants. I need a nice, chilled, dry white with shell fish and the like.

Ah... sorry, I'm in Seoul. So I figure most places I'm looking at (fairly upscale, nothing TOO upscale... okay, expensive) aren't starved for business, especially on a Friday night.

Not sure I'm into a Korean restaurant, either. Anyone know a good place in Seoul? I've only heard Villa Sortino... which would work, I suppose, but just curious if there are any others.

Sortino actually waives the corkage fee on Sunday, per my understanding.

Nice- I'm gonna call them and ask. Anyone know the number?

Oh, and do you mean Sortino or Villa Sortino? Two different places, right?

EDIT: Villa Sortino

Your well-aged bottle is just waiting to be uncorked, but youve got to find the right meal to match it with. Try some of the tastefully prepared Italian food at Villa Sortino in Itaewonwithout any extra charge for bringing your wine. Villa Sortino is waiving the corkage for guests each Sunday to help you enjoy a more affordable meal. And since its free, why not bring along a second bottle? Find this Italian ristorante a short walk from Itaewon Stn. (line 6, ex. 2).

You're wayyy off, unfortunately. My co-teacher just called them. Not only are they not waiving the corking fee... it's now 30,000W! It used to be 10,000! Outrageous!

Ah... read that wrong. Thought your friend was there on Sunday and found out they waived the corking fee. Anyway... now it's 30,000W on any other day! Blah.

There's a really good place called 'Nom' between Hansung Stn, and Sungshin Stn on Line 4. It's Italian, and actually REALLY good. Their fee is 10,000 a bottle. You'll have to use Naver to find the exact location, a bit hard to describe if you're not familiar with the area.
