I've never been to one, and as this is being held a stone's throw from home, I will probably go. Can I just turn up and walk in, or do I need to pay for a ticket etc? If anyone knows, please let me know. |

I'm going too... my first time as well. You can pay at the door, according to the website. I believe it's 65,000. I'm not sure on that number.
Anyone who has been in the past mind informing me on the general dress code? I'd assume business casual, but I've been wrong before! |

65,000? what does that pay for? I could stay home and watch the rugby for free! Still, it is a good opportunity... |

It includes the conference fee as well as your membership in KOTESOL.

the publishers exhibits are pretty good, the speakers can be real hit or miss
if you go it will take forever to register they seem to always have problems with on site registration |

I have been a member of KOTESOL for almost a year, and my membership expires at the end of the month. What is the cost of admission and renewing my membership ? |

I paid 40,000 and that included entrance into this Saturday's conference as well. I'm planning on attending and this will be my first KOTESOL conference too. I've been to one TESOL conference in Hawaii before and from what I remember there wasn't really much of a dress code. I've seen people walk around in t shirt and shorts so I'm assuming the dress code for these conferences is lax. |

The key-note speaker is Dr. Stephen Krashen. He's rather famous in the ESL world. If you're planning on going to graduate school or have studied TESOL, you'd have seen his name before. He has different theories about learning a second language. His ideas are controversial in terms of they generated a lot of debate, and you could put this on your resume.
I'm going. |

Krashen is going to be awesome! Don't forget the two other plenary speakers Kumaravadivelu and Folse
New to teaching?
There is a 101 series of presentations at this year's conference for teachers just like you. Come to my presentation ('Integrating the Four Strands': Sunday, 12 noon, room B109) for a hands-on workshop trying out some classroom activities and understanding how and why they will help your students' learning. |
