Write a poem here. Take no longer than five minutes.
buzzing printer on my desk
what is my co-teacher printing?
must be something very important
since he fails to come to class
crashing students through the hallways
why can you not tread lightly?
must be your lack of time to be a child
since the school makes you work all day
Yeah, my Thursdays stink. |

teaching in suanbo is tiring
each of my neurons stopped firing
good thing Thursday's done
and the weekend's begun
else some students might start dying
just kidding. |

stately manners
the sun was shining brightly
and i could hardly wait
to wander to my window
and gaze at my estate
what's this i see a little bird
with a bright and yellow bill
i beckoned it to come and sit
upon my window sill
i smiled at it in happiness
and fed it a crust of bread
then quickly slammed the window
and smashed its goddam head |

A cool wind slowing the pace of life,
Dripping streams of leaves across callous streets
Were I to follow, would know my roots again.

Here are several poems I like that a good friend wrote awhile ago....Here's the English translation of them......
My hand in forgiveness
Hasty words were said,
Painful tears were spilled,
A whirlwind of thoughts rushing through my head,
A place where sorrow ultimately filled,
A fire was made in a place of flowers,
Where it should never have been lit,
A mistake to pass every hour,
Causing an anger that never would fit,
Some words were never meant to be spoken,
But take this as you go,
This sincere apology is all my heart and mind can afford to offer as my token,
It's very little to extend, I know
Happiness in the shadow of a letter
All that is felt, never so great,
Always leaving one's heart in the hands of destiny and fate,
Never realizing true love until it was too late,
Leaving me in a traumatic paralyzing state,
Then one night when all felt lost,
A great gift was given without paying a cost,
To melt away pain incubated by hatred and frost,
I look back with happiness in the brief moment I found,
A voice of love echoing so loud without making a sound.
Tears Fall-Without You
How am I to explain the pain swelling my eyes,
How could I lift my head back up after you said good-bye,
To simply let you go would devastate me for years to come,
Leaving me to feel this pain in which I have already surcombed,
Don't look back even as I cry,
To say I don't love you would be a terrible lie.
The Agony of Saying Goodbye
It is the worst word ever made,
It brings so much pain,
It causes beautiful memories to fade,
It drives lovers utterly insane,
It starts wars and other conflicts,
It brings children to tears,
By the terrible wounds it inflicts,
Bringing out a person's nightmarish fears,
Saying it innocently can be a horrible lie,
Because there is no recourse for this word,
The agony of saying goodbye. |

I can't get these lyrics out of my mind and I listen to it over and over again lately. They are haunting and, at once too, sublime (yes, that's a corny word, but it just fits here):
When I was a child I caught a flee--ting glimpse,
Out of the corner of my eye.
I turned to look but it was gone.
I cannot put my finger on it now.
The child is grown, the dream is gone.
I--have become--comfortably numb.
Mine:
White wine, pour and dine
at my house on the by
White lights, white nights,
In the city in the bay
Give us a light, give us the time?
Give it to me,
give it now
He left, I left
And then we all turn in
For the night. |

I do, I do like it. If it is slam poetry you want, I shall oblige, too. (I slam like the best of them, and then poetry too).
Just yous wait till I get off work.
(This is a fun thread, and I shall bump it till kingdom come). |

pretty soon I get my pay
how to spend it the best way?
dirty harry's gun and say:
"Go ahead, make my day" |

Have you people no soul? I had to go to page 5 to dig up my poetry thread.
A shorty:
steaming mug of caffiene save me from sleep
mornings are not my cup of tea
rather you are |

I think it's funny you dug five pages
You should have used the search feature
I haven't smirked so hard in ages
What a joy to be a teacher
Man, this poem is pretty lame
I should really go plan class
Do you ever do the same?
(Wait until the very last?) |

Blim, blam, slim, splat,
I have too much "in the Korea"
Or, a "challenge this" or "my mind" that
To fill a truck load in the Korea
Shoot me in the head
Never mind my "number one mind"
To much bad English to be had
To kick me in the ass
In the Korea
(Ok, I'll try harder next time, my master) |
