Well the lunar calendar is different, so it changes year to year, correct? Chuseok is different each year because of said calendar.
No shit, "the other" New Year's Day is January 1. I know that.
Give a man a break, I'm hungover. |

Wow, you both are really pleasant people. I bet you've also been Korea/whatever country teaching for 18,000 years and know everything about everything, right?
And it's January 23, asshats. Yes, I found it, but you know, it really is easier to just help someone that be a *beep*.
A+ example of ESL Cafe at its finest. |

You found it 5 minutes after being told to Google it. Now wouldn't it have been easier to Google it from the start instead of waiting 30 minutes from your first post? |

Actually, the site is quite tame compared to what it use to be. Before no one cared. Now the moderators are constantly editing and shutting things down. A shame. I kind of miss that "wild west" feel the site use to have. |

This posters on this site are not unpaid researchers ready and waiting for any question that springs to your mind but are too lazy to google for yourself.
No one here minds answering any question if it seems that the OP has made some kind of effort to find out for themselves. |

There's a reason why someone could ask a question here that can be answered by Google.
For example, I now know that the date is the 23rd January without going through Google. I'm sure a few other people shared the experience.
Telling people that they're wasting your time by asking (unnecessary) questions is in itself a wast of time. The request could be politely ignored or answered with a LMGTFY link.
So why not give the OP a break instead of calling him names? |

As I expected, the 2nd link leads directly to...this topic!
In a way this supports my point...
The best reason to use Google right away (or maybe the worst reason) is found in the links that have little or nothing to do with the right solution. Hours of fun trivia to be discovered there (simple example: a search for "10055 cielo drive crime scene photos" resulted in me discovering the movie "Wonderland"). |
