So, I got married to a Korean guy last weekend. Good times.

Now, I have all sorts of exciting new social obligations, the first of which is throwing a housewarming party for my new husband's co-workers (20 people, mostly super-conservative Koreans). I have been advised that a mix of Korean and American food would be fine.

Has anyone ever done this? What did you make?

Or, what would you make? I am a decent baker and an okay cook. I have a pretty solid working knowledge of Korean cuisine, but I have some trouble getting my seasonings balanced correctly, so I am looking for Korean dishes that are hard to mess up.

I was thinking something like, jayook bokkeum, lasagna, rice, maybe daktooritang, salad, grilled veggie skewers, lemon squares for dessert?

Of course, my husband will be picking up a case of soju.

Where do you get your Korean food recipes? I love Aeri's Kitchen. (http://aeriskitchen.com/)

Sorry I can't comment further; I usually cook Korean food for my son, which involves a lot of blander foods that your husband's coworkers might not go for so much at a dinner party (miyeokguk, kongnamulguk, jumeokbap, etc.)

Good luck!

I usually use either my mother-in-law's recipes, as best as I can remember them, or I watch Maangchi's youtube channel.

Thanks for the website! It looks really helpful. ^^
