|
|
I am not sure where to look. I'd even buy some from a store in Korea if need be. I'd like to watch some Korean movies to help improve my listening skills and Korean in general.
I'd appreciate your help.... |

| I torrent a lot of stuff, if it's available (mostly movies), while the shows are typically available on YouTube. |

YouTube
Viki.com
Hulu.com
mysoju.com
Dramacrazy.net
You can buy them from yesasia.com
In general, I stick to viki, mysoju, and hulu. They seem to have pretty much all I need. I try others if a link is broken. I hope this was helpful. |

| yeah, hulu isn't accessable in Korea. OP should check out gomtv. It's a Korean media player and they have subtitles on their website. If you play a video, and you're online, the player will automatically ask if you want to look for subtitles, assuming its in their database. |

for movies and old drama sets check out:
http://asiatorrents.com/
this is also good for movies, but you'll have to find the subtitles on your own (check out gom) because it's a local based tracker:
http://www.torrentrg.com/
for current tv drama, i use:
http://d-addicts.com
subs for dramas can be found at:
http://withs2.com/
http://www.viki.com/ (look up show and go to soft subs)
http://www.darksmurfsub.com/forum/
the speed between the three vary. viki used to be a day or two after airing, but they release the soft subs a lot slower now. withs2 is really slow, but probably the highest quality. dark smurf is really fast, but the subs are community based projects and can be sloppy sometimes. |

| www.aznv.tv is pretty good for quality and selection. Though, not only Korean dramas/movies. |

What about English subtitles? I tried this one website that someone mentioned by PM. He probably wouldn't want me to mention it, but it seemed hard to get the subtitles, and to download, I had to wait some time on some Polish downloader. Do regular Korean DVD's have subtitles as an option? I haven't checked out Hula, but what's the score on subtitles and ensuring that I can watch the movies with subtitles. My Korean isn't that good. I downloaded a movie, and since I couldn't sync the subtitle I was out of luck and printing them wouldn't work. I can't follow based on the minutes...What's the best site? |

From experience, most Korean movies and dramas you buy in stores will come with the English subtitle option. I don't know if you are actually in Korea, if that's the case you cannot use Hulu (though I do remember some people on this board saying they found a way around it).
Viki is probably the best source and that's where most of the dramas on Hulu are from anyway. I just prefer Hulu's layout and use it over going to Viki. Viki is subbed by many different people as 'sub teams'. They will usually get an episode up with English subs within 2 days or so of it airing. If you get to the point where your listening is decent and you want to work on your Hangul, you can get select Korean subs since they sub in many different languages. I'm ranting so I'll stop there.
I only check the other websites if they don't have a show or if a link is broken. I'm also not a fan of having to watch shows in parts, which is common on some of the other sites. Viki has it both ways I think- full stream & multiple parts. |

| Tangential, but possibly important: if you watch Korean shows with English subtitles, the chances of improving in your Korean comprehension are fairly slim. Better to find easier materials with Korean subtitles. Anyway, good luck! Let us know if you find a good site! |

Here's good site that I use for Korean movies and dramas:
http://www.asiandramadownloads.com/
Subs are uploaded as soon as they're available.
Enjoy! |

I'll try it. What program do you use to get the subtitles in sync with the videos. Do you use VLN player? |
