I'm looking for a blazer to wear to interviews and nice clubs. I'm looking for something inexpensive, however, as it's more of a overall-look thing and I'm not trying to impress, just have one of for posterity. I'm looking for something that can also fit a guy who works out and has a westerner's build, so a little wider in the shoulders and a little fuller in the chest. Does anyone have an idea of where grab one? |

Really? Why not get a custom made one from Itaewon. If that is to expensive - why not try looking for stuff off the rack and trying out.
Also consider looking at popular used clothing stores with Westerners - maybe something there! |

bought a great blazer at h&m.
there were some decent ones at zara too. of the two h&m's in myeongdong, the bigger one close to the cinema had the better selection.
uniqlo has some too but their fall/winter collection is a three-button number that looks like chairman mao garb. unless you fit in their slim fit which is a two-button. |

cheaper and better to get a custom made one in Itaewon with the right tailor. H&M and Zara are HUGE ripoffs in Korea. Avoid. |

Go and find JJ's tailor store in Itaewon. He'll hook you up good for around a 100k.
Yeah Zaras in Korea is whack.
TGNT are decent, as are Beanpole, but expect to pay 200k for a decent one or 150k on sale items.
YOU COULD get a cheappie at basic house, parkland etc, but nothing, nothing looks worse than a cheap blazer. It's worth investing in a gooddie that will last a few years.
I found a pin striped suit at a small adjuma stall outside dongdaemum baseball stadium for 100k and it's still going strong 5 years later.
So best advice would be
1. Tailor made in itaewon (JJ is an excellent tailor.)
2. Sale item from a decent mid level high st chain
3. Like my dongdaemun purchase - go to random korean outdoor markets or fashion malls like the DOOTA / Migliore stores in Dongdaemun and you can find rare diamonds amongst the rough.
4. Order from an internet store back home.
Key things to consider are - fit at top of shoulders and downward taper and the lower / middle back fit ratio, it wants to flow smoothly and not bunch up or tent out and become saggy looking either. At the same time a too tight suit can make you look real jersey Shore, real quicktime!
So either tailor made or a store where you can view your reflection from the back.

a custom blazer done in itaewon will be upwards of 200/250... if not itll be an adjusted blazer off the rack, not right for the proportions the op mentioned.
going and dicking around in migliore/dongdaemun is a drain on time and again with the size the op is looking for, good luck.
h&m over zara, but i stand by my post above that a good quality blazer can (and has been found) at either of these places for less than you'd expect. |
