Hey guys. I am looking for a decent gym. Sauna, machines (ellipticals, treadmill, stationary bike) , weights, pool, indoor track, the whole 9 yards. Trying to pay no more than ~70k/won per for it per month. Willing to pay extra for personal trainer options if they speak English. Looking for a large facility with all the works or at least a lot of the works. I live around Children's Grand Park and I would prefer not to have to take the train or bus to a good gym. I want to be able to walk there.
Do you guys have any suggestions and particular directions on how to find the place(s) you suggest?
TIA
And I am aware that I may not be able to find a place that has EVERYTHING that I want, but I am interested to see what is out there. I have been asking around and no one seems to know of a place nearby so I thought I'd consult the forum. |

K2 climbing wall/gym
A massive 7+ story gym/wall climbing facility between seongsu station ad konkuk. Probaly has a sauna. Nicest gym in the area(in all of seoul possibly). Exactly what your looking for. My friend loves it. Some celebs go there too.
The New luxury tower in the star city complex has a gym, but I've never seen them advertise for members.
Max fitness on the 7th floor of the building next to kondae subway is good, but no sauna. Lots of young people and pretty nice(for a korean gym...)
There is a SAP gym in kondae for the hardcore(kettle balls, tires and chains, etc.) too.
Avoid Han-rim....small and boring... |

I've heard SAP was good and although I don't know exactly where it is, it would be closer to me walking wise....how would it compare to the other massive gym? I may go a bit farther for the extra perks..lol.
What are the hours like at these places? I teach in the mornings so I would only be able to go in early afternoon or evening...but once winter break is hear, I would like to start going during the day (mornings). |

I am going to try and head over to K2. I was looking for a price list and the first one I found seemed rather steep, though it may also include climbing, which I'm not into....hoping it's not that expensive because it does seem to have everything I need. Is this a place that lends you workout gear or would you bring your own? I only just found out recently some places give you clothes to workout in and I thought it was strange BUT convenient at the same time...wouldn't have to carry a stinky gym bag! That's by no means a deciding factor, but I am curious. |

I live RIGHT next to K2--a sub-minute walk. I don't work out there b/c signing up for gym alone--not including pool/climbing/other stuff is ~$120 a month on a plan. If you wanna work out there for a single month (GYM ONLY), it's ~$150.
Crazy ripoff.
My friend recommended Max--which on a plan is $50/month and is open 24 hours a day. |

Yeah K2 is a bit steeper than I am going for. I tried looking for Max but could not find it and no one knew what I was talking about. Which exit is Max and how would I get to the building from there? |

Hi guys. Thanks to a friend, I ended up finding a gym that was much closer, which will be a plus in this cold weather. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles, but it is close, open late and I did get a personal trainer package. Should be an interesting ride. |
