Do I have to go to the consulate in Seattle? Are there other ways to get these things done? I look forward to hearing from anyone who has gotten these things done. Thank you! |

I sent for mine via express mail which still costs less than a trip to Seattle. CALL the embassy for specific instructions--they are quite detailed.

I am from Portland. Driving to Seattle takes less time and it is a good day trip. If you cannot drive there, ship it overnight. I think the price is the same with all the shipping costs. |

I'm also from Portland. When I came to Korea I called the consulate in Seattle to see about getting my degreee notarized. Since I went to school in Arizona they said I had to send my degree to the consulate in Los Angeles. But to get my E-2 visa I could go to Seattle, or anywhere with a consulate. So anyway, that's a little known fact I guess. Where you went to school may affect where you need to have your degree checked.
Also, when you send it, send along a couple of photo copies. They will just stamp them for you. It doesn't cost anything, and it will save some hassle if you decide to re-up after your first contract. Happy job searching. |

The best thing to do is call them and ask what is the best way to mail it to them and to which att. you should make it out to, here are the phone number and address that you might want:
Seattle: 2033 Sixth Ave., #1125 Seattle, WA 98121 206) 441-1011
For: Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington |

It may depend on whom you speak to at the consulate. I went to school in Indiana and still got my diploma certified in Seattle. |
