I have good holiday time off work so sometimes I travel around Korea instead of going abroad. I have seen most corners of Korea by this stage and it is usually very enjoyable.

Now I am in Andong.

So, first of all, the new bus terminal in Andong is way way out of town. I understand the concept of keeping bus terminals out of town to reduce traffic in the middle but this is a ridiculous distance.

Secondly, the new bus terminal does not have any tourist information or any way to find out which buses go into the city centre.

So, I caught an 8000Won taxi to the tourist info place at the train station downtown (where the main motel area is too).

Then, at the tourist info place, they told me all of the city tours start out from the express bus terminal where there is no tourist info office as i mentioned earlier. wtf????

I was in Andong a few weeks ago for the mask festival and I kind of feel your pain.

If you travel in Kore a lot I'm sure you're familiar with 1330. I called them and they gave me the phone number for the Gyeongsang tourist information office (the people at the Andong train station). They have a woman on staff who speaks English and she was really helpful.

By the way I think most of the city buses that you catch across the street from the express bus terminal go by the tourist office/train station in downtown Andong. I remember having 3 options - none of them were particularly fast though.

I do agree that it is a pain that these new bus terminals are put out in the middle of nowhere *cough* CHUNCHEON *cough*
