Hello I left my korean job 2 months before my contract was to expire. That was in 2009. I am looking to go back and teach again. Does the government keep my passport # on file?

I am trying to pretend i am just a first year teacher so I don;t have to supply them with contact information to my old school...

Do I need to get a new passport?

Thanks!

In short, immigration isn't going to care. If you worked for 10 months, just say you had family issues back home and now you are able to return to Korea. It won't look that bad because it would have been to your benefit to stay 2 months to get airfare home and severance.

Did you get your pension? If not, it's still there or should be. If you have a contract from the school, then you might still be able to collect on it. Actually, you won't be able to collect on it. They might be able to force the school to back pay pension, but then you won't actually be able to collect it until you probably leave again. However, there might be money owed to you.

I don't see any need to leave previous work history out. The problem is getting new documents, coming to Korea, and trying to find a school to hire you.

That is good that immigration doesn't care... But do the public schools hold onto the information into a database?

The bigger problem I am worried about is saying I worked in KOrea before and then having them contact my former employer... I think i will pretend I am first year...
