|
|
Hello,
Recently I saw the new game 'Gears of War 3' for the Xbox 360. I wanted to buy it although the back of the game box states that it is in Korean, that is the menu is in Korean. So my question is, does that mean that when connecting to Xbox Live you are only connected to Korean players? I have heard rumours that this is true of Korean language games.
Thanks, |

as long as your xbox is set to english all the menus will be in english for gears 3. very few games are korean only. i've been living here for 3 years now and the only game i bought that had korean dialogue was ODST. also, i've never had a problem connecting to US servers if fact 99.99% of the time i'm ALWAYS playing on north american servers. very few games will let you play on anything else. only one i can think of is black ops that lets you select local or global servers. |

I hope you can answer my question related to the topic as you seem to be expert in this field. I am welling to buy winning eleven 2012 here in Korea, but i have a US Xbox. I need to know if the video format is the same as i never tried to buy a game from here yet, and if the game will be in Korean on my English console ? The game ads mentioned that game menu and manual will be in Korean, but sounds/commentary in the game will be in English. Will that apply to my case too ? I mean will i see menus in Korean ?
Regards, |

Winning Eleven 2012 is a region-locked game. If you have a US Xbox the game will not work at all. You have no choice but to track down a copy of the US version of the game.
Just in case anyone else is interested the game does have English, but as I said before, unless you have an Asian-region Xbox the Korean version will not work for you. |

Gah, next generation games better all be in every language and completely region free. Half the reason I haven't bought a PS3 or Xbox360 is because I live in Korea and have no idea if a game I want will be easy to find in English or if I'll even be able to play it on a Korean bought system.
I'm leaning towards a PS3 since they're at least region free. |

I recommend you stop by play-asia.com. Even if you never buy anything, they list for each game what language it's in and what the region locking is set to.
One I know of offhand is that the Asian region Halo 3 is in Japanese, even though the menus and such are in English. |

Has anyone been having problems connecting to Gears of War 3 online servers? It always comes back as unable to find a suitable match. My XBL subscription is set up as a U.S. account, so I'm wondering if that has something to do with it. |

More side tracking.
Anyone ever get their PS3 banned from PSN by lying about their address? I've heard a load of reports of people successfully doing this and just enough horror stories to be entirely conflicted. All I really want to do is download a patch or two and get some trophy access. |

I continued to use my account with my old home address on it (from before I moved to Korea) and never had any trouble.
I also got two games that were for the "Asian" region, and a completely fake Hong Kong address got me the online content for those... as well as an extra "Welcome Back Package".
Never got into any trouble on either, but don't play online with the Asian one.
I'd like to get a Korean account for DLC for games bought here, but you need a citizen number (it will reject your ARN), and ever since summer, you can't seem to sign in to the Korean PSN anyway. |
