|
|
I'm on an F-2, and I work at five different establishments teaching part time.
About three weeks ago, I was asked for a local criminal record check, copy of my degree and CV at one place. On Monday I was asked by another school to supply a copy of my degree and alien card.
Today, at another school, I was asked for documents, but not completely sure what ones as my boss doesn't speak English and my korean isn't so hot. It would appear that I've been asked for a criminal record check (my wife doesn't know if it's a local or a UK one required), a health check with a drugs check, and my degree (my wife doesn't know if it should be apostilled etc, it doesn't specify). The information my wife read seems quite vague.
I think the DoE has had over 15 copies of my degree so far, and likewise for my alien card, but I've not had to provide a health AND drug test before as an F-2 visa holder. |

| You will have to provide a UK CBC, an apostilled degree, a Korean CBC, including a sexual harrasment check, and a health/drug test. These rules apply across the board, irregardless of visa type, if you want to work with children. |

| I'll have to do some research then. I left the UK 13 years ago, and so don't know how to get a UK criminal record check whilst in Korea, I've just had to do the local one whilst in korea. An apostilled degree I've never done. When I was last on an E-2 I only had to provide sealed transcripts, of which I still have copies. |

You should probably ask this at AFEK. I know there are F visa holders here but the majority of the posters on Dave's are E visas, they don't have the same requirements as you.
If you've been in Korea for 13 years I don't see why a UK CBC would be required. A local one should suffice. |

Depends where you work, all I've been asked for is a Korean CBC.

I just wonder what the exact requirements are for an F-2 visa holder working as a teacher. I've been asked for a CRC, degree and alien card (both public school and hagwon), but only one place has asked for a health/drugs check. I asked if I could see written confirmation from the education department concerning F-2 holders, but the boss hasn't been able to provide it. I spoke to a couple of fellow F-2 visa holders, one hasn't been asked for anything, and the other has only provided a local CRC and degree.
Maybe I'll do a local CRC, provide my degree yet again, and do a health / drugs check and if they want more, they'll have to specify a bit better. |
