|
|
Hey, Im coming to Korea a few months as a tourist. last time I was there I got a cold, and you have to go to the doctor to get medicine usually, and its pretty expensive (they give you these little packets for a high price compared to if you bought the whole package).
So Im bringing some cough syrup. Jail? |

you're fine. And if youre a resident here the cold meds that the dr's give you isn't expensive. My last visit was a total of 7,000 won (including drug cocktails). |

Have regularly brought back cold and flu tabs when I returned to Korea from trips home. Have never had an issue. |

Maybe I just bought the wrong stuff at the store a couple of times. but I found OTC meds here to be pretty much sugar pills. Bring Nyquil or tabs if you can

Maybe I just had bad experiences here, but the medicine in Korea has NEVER helped me when I was sick. As such, I have always brought a years supply of my own medication which usually included: 2-3 packs of nyquel/dayquel capsuls, 2 packs of 12 hour sudaphed, and some pills that help with food poisoning.* Never had any problems.
I will make a note that as of 2008, Sudaphed was illegal to bring into Japan, according to the Lonely Planet, Japan. Just thought I'd mention that if you planned to make a jump over there.
*I tend to get sick a lot during the winter time. |

They will ignore you upon entry if you're from an English-speaking country. Laws are made for the unsavory types. |
