Anyone brought an Unlocked Iphone 4 to Korea and gone through the processes to make it work and is willing to share on the details?
From what I've read I need to bring it to the nearest SK Telecom and they can hook me up?
Anyone had any experience with this> |

and even better you dont need to sign up to a fixed term contract, as they aren't giving you a subsidised phone.
I have a rolling month by month contract with Olleh, 55000W with 300 mins/sms and unlimited data. |

It's probably better to unlock in Korea; in the U.S. at T-mobile they charge $20 to unlock.

You can buy an unlocked one from Apple for 650. However I'm wondering if it is possible for a family member to ship it here and to not have to pay taxes on it? |

I got from the Olleh shop near Ilsan beach in Ulsan. A Korean girl from my office sorted it all out for me, so I dont know what was discussed, only that it can be done!! |

Just got mine yesterday after days of searching. Seems like most shops don't know their arse from their elbow as regards Olleh policy, but the official regional HQ managed to help me out! thanks for the info, btw. |

I'm planning to buy an unlocked iPhone 4 in the UK, and reading this post i'm assuming it will be fully functional on certain networks when i return to Korea? If possible, can someone confirm this!
Cheers. |

Anyone know if an unlocked US (Verizon/CDMA) iPhone 4/4S would work on SK prepaid? I'm guessing you would have to do a contract with internet? |

I purchased an unlocked iPhone 4 (WCDMA) from the apple store in New York prior to coming to Korea. I took it to the Olleh store in Korea and they registered the IMEI without trouble. I pay 55k a month for 300 minutes talk time and unlimited data.
Getting an unlocked iPhone saves you the hassle of under-trained store clerks giving you the run around due to their lack of knowledge concerning foreign visas and contract eligibility. |

Yes, definitely, but you'll have to go to a proper KT/etc store when you bring it. |

55k/mo is a good price, but I don't use phone internet and rarely even make calls (mostly incoming calls/texting), so I'd only do SK prepaid, for which I paid ~15k/mo for last year. Anyone know for sure whether it will work or not for prepaid? |

really glad someone made this post. about to head to korea with my unlocked iphone and wanted to know more about the plans available. Are these usually negotiable or are there set plans already in place for olleh (seems like the only ez store to get a plan)?
What I am particularly interested in is the unlimited data plan and maybe roaming capability. |
