|
|
Hi
I've just started a TEFL online course which I found for only 55 on one of those 'Deals' sites. They seem legit and I've spoken to them on the phone. My concern is that I don't know if they are accredited - how will that affect my application to Korea and res of the World?
thanks for the help |

There is no "global accreditation agency" for TESL, TESOL, TEFL, etc.certification schools. Caveat Emptor.
As long as you get the nice certificate and it has the pretty red or gold leaf seal/stamp you will be fine since a TEFL cert is not a requirement to teach in Korea.
IF you want to teach in Europe, Central/South America, or some other countries in Asia it is useless (as are all the other on-line certifications).
If you want one that is globally accepted it should be 120 hours with a minimum of 6 hours of observed practicum with real students (not peers).
More recognized brand names (globally) include the CELTA, Trinity or SIT cert TESOL.

That's a relief - I will get a certificate on completing the course.
I'm only looking for something that will help me to be selected for Korea, and the pay-bump of course.
Thanks ttompatz |
