Go on facebook and type GwangjuCouchsurfers or type anything Gwangju, and you'll find the general Gwangju site. Also sign up for the Gwangju second hand page, so you can get used to stuff people are selling. PM me, if you want to know more. I've been here for a couple of months. It's my birthday this Sunday. You're welcome to come.

For places to hang out. Go to any of the following:

1)The First Alley restaurant/pub.

(How to get there? 1)Go downtown near where the Migliore building is (Meeleeyoray) and tell the cab to drop you off there.

2)Go and look for a new Starbucks. There are two Starbucks downtown.
Find the one that is somewhat opposite of a Zara store.

(Opposite of the Zara is a LaCoste and Lloyd's store. Go in the alley between them, and you'll find a Filipino restaurant and the First Alley Way restaurant. It's open in the evening.

_____________________________________________________________

For another pub there is the Speak Easy pub.

1)In the downtown area find a Pappa John's Pizza. It's close to a Mini-Stop Convenient Store.

2)Opposite of the Pappa John's in the first alley near a Yen Pasta restaurant is the German bar.

In the alley after that is Speak Easy.

_____________________________________________________________

I can't describe Bubble Bar. It's a club that can be a bit rowdy. Some people love it for dancing, but the occasional foreign hot head gets into a fight with another foreigner or Korean. I haven't checked the place out.

I live near Gwangju in a small city called Naju. I've been here for about 6 months now. I hope to see you around! Do you have a cellphone yet?

One of my Korean friends lives in Naju. How is it like over there? Where do you like hanging out in Gwangju? I sometimes go to Speak Easy. I went to Speak Easy to watch the rugby match. I also like the First Alley restaurant. They have good Bloody Marys, and I like the brunch. The poutine is pretty decent. I occasionally go to the German bar.
If anyone is coming down to Gwangju and needs any tips, send me a PM.

It sounds like we like to hang out at a lot of the same places. Of course, I don't live in Gwangju anymore, but still like to come down from Seoul now and then to meet up with friends. I might come down again this weekend.
