I want to ship a 30cm x 45cm box of books to the UK.
Anyone have any idea at all what my options are and how much it might cost? |

Just use the post office. Maybe 30,000 won? And it may take a month or so. |

Cost is based on weight not size.
The UK is in zone 3.

Surface mail:
20kg = 52,100 won
(table in the middle of the page)
Air, parcel
20kg = 145800 won.
(top table on the page)

Ah thanks ttompatz.
Yeah the surface mail looks reasonable enough. Though how could you go to the UK by 'surface?' I guess it includes the seas?
Yesh was thinking of selling them but can't bring myself to do it as I only keep the very best and exchange the rest and to sell these would be a blasphemy against good literature.
20k is about what they weigh, so I'd hapilly pay 50k to have them back at my parent's attic with all my others. |

Indeed 'surface' means 'by sea.' Because of that, however, variation in the timing of arrival to the UK can be quite huge - no one knows if your box would be the first one to be shipped (and stay on board until the whole vessel gets filled up) or the last one to be shipped and sets sail immediately. In a worst case scenario, it may take up to two full months. But around 5 weeks on average.
Either way, ParcelForce takes over once it lands and they deliver it to your doorstep. |
