Good Day,

I am considering the jump to teach. I understand that in most cases apts are provided.

Are you allowed to bring your dog? Mine is about 25lbs, or 12 Kilos.

Please advise. Smile Smile

Cheers.

Many people bring their animals. Just be ready to find your own place or deal with landlords that are unwilling to allow pets.

Ok. So if that's the case, are there many or few landlords willing to allow dogs or cats? Regarding the ones unwilling, can they be persuaded to allow a pet?

Is there anyone out there with this experience that would comment?

Cheers.

Every place I've lived in Korea; Busan, Suncheon, Daegu has allowed pets.
From officetells to little apt buildings. The only places I've heard that haven't allowed pets are some "on campus" dorm type rooms at some Universities.
Don't know if that helps, since every landlord has his/her own rules, but you should be able to bring your "buddy" without a whole lot of hassle!
Good Luck!

I've house-hunted here a number of times for me & my two cats. Of the dozens of potential landlords I've met, only one had a strict no-pet policy.

If your dog doesnt bark a lot & you're prepared to pay for any damage it might cause, you should be fine. I suggest you alert a potential boss before you come. Best luck.

[Side-story: I had to find a new home to move to next month (owner suddenly sold my current building). Went to my real estate agent this morning & we found a cute little house in the midst of total remodelling right downtown in Sokcho but on a quiet alley. Plus its own little garden my cats can roam, with a quince tree & a persimmon tree & I can grow some flowers. I'm stoked!]

Thank you Schwa, that's great info. Yes, I always clean up after my dog if he gets sick indoors, and take him outside and also clean up after him, so dammage is no problem. I will be upfront with the school superiors.

My dog doesn't bark much either with him, or out. He loves people and other dogs.

Thank you for sharing your side story regarding the move with your cats, I can se you are happy indeed.
