was doing a search, but didn't find anything new & relevant.

am thinking of getting a lower back/full torso MRI taken, as an old injury has been nagging me lately and is stressing me out.

anyone know of any good, reasonably priced places to get an MRI of said location? in seoul? am trying to avoid the larger hospitals, as they cost a fair bit (600 - 800K was the ballpark figure).

any help would be greatly appreciated! thx in adv.

You could go to a smaller hospital like Saerim Hospital near the Bupyeong-gu Office subway station on the Incheon Line. They quoted me around $400 for lumbar + thoracic. Of course, for that price you aren't getting a state-of-the-art 3.0 Tesla machine, but what are the odds of it making any difference? Nobody was complaining about the image quality of 1.5 Tesla machines before the 3.0s were introduced.

There is this place: http://eng.kmi.or.kr/

We get our physicals done there. The prices on the English side are HORRIBLY inflated from what we paid. See if a Korean can call and get some prices as foreigner in Korea working as a teacher with KOREAN insurance.

They are attempting to profit from medical tourists, so it's best to avoid being designated as such.

I had an MRI several months ago. Can't remember what I paid, but my wife and I saw a small sign on the desk stating that it was 1/2 price (or some decently worthwhile discount) if you got it done in the evening. Unfortunately, we saw this as we were paying for my 'afternoon' MRI. Something you might want to look into. This was at the Seoul Cheok Byung Won (which has recently moved next the Hyundai Dept. store at Miasamgeori).
