There is no red light. There are no pedestrians. There is no-one on the road but me. |

Sure. I put about 50 km a day on my scooter. It's a blast, except in the rain. |

Riding a motorcycle in Korea is a great way to wake up in the morning. Between the buses running red lights at 80km and the taxis thinking their British and driving on the left side of the road, I arrive at work alert and more than ready for anything the kids can throw at me.

My vote would have been:
I don't drive because public transit here is excellent and there is enough traffic as it is.
So, drive in Korea? I see no reason to.
Of course for someone living in the countryside it might be different, but in my opinion, if you live in a major city here you would have to be slightly off your rocker to buy a car and drive. |

I have survived (and enjoyed) riding a motorcycle for a year in Seoul and Incheon.
Don't know whether that says more about my luck or my stupidity. |

Yup, I drive in Korea. As I live in a smaller town, I find the driving isn't that much different from home. I make frequent trips to Seoul and once I get off the highway, the stress of driving sets in. Once I arrive at my destination, the car gets parked for the duration and I use public transport. |

Not sure what the fuss is about really.
Driving here is absolutely no problem and I feel a lot safer here than London when driving as people care about their cars here and as a result give way to you alot more freely than London.
No problem at all. |

I live in Geumchon near the DMZ so it relaxed compared to Seoul, but I find no problems now driving in Korea. I often make trips into Seoul, and only there its really crazy! |

If you haven't, go and drive in London. Then you will think Seoul is tame. |

A friend offered to GIVE me a car here, and I still said no! Can't be bothered to pay for wildly expensive gas, and figure if I'm gonna be stuck in traffic, it's less frustrating if I'm not behind the wheel. |

I agree that the travel infra-structure here is really good and there is never any problem getting anywhere at any real cost.
But. Back to the OP. Driving here really is no problem at all.
Sorry to hark on, but maybe driving 2,500 miles a month for four years in London has broken me in to harsh driving conditions. |

I drive in Seoul everyday. Drive my wife to work, myself to work, kids to daycare. No problems. |

Quite a different experience for me. The only time I'm uncomfortable driving here is when we go out of Seoul to a small town (particularly my wife's hometown of Tangjin). The roads are narrow. There are very few traffic lights. You approach every intersection with trepidation knowing that there is no right of way. There aren't any sidewalks so you have to watch out for pedestrians walking on the road while trying to avoid Uncle Jed going the wrong way down a one way street.
Driving in Seoul is a piece of cake. Once you are accustomed to driving here you can move on to the one of my favorite sports....taxi boxing. No greater pleasure on the road than boxing an obnoxious taxi driver behind the slow poke. |
