I just bought a Canon 600D camera. I previously had a simple Canon point and shoot.
Does anyone know a good tutorial online for teaching the settings and lens types? I know nothing about settings and less than nothing about lenses.
When should I use a lens?
I'm not going to be doing any studio pictures, but I want my pictures to look as good as possible.
Thanks in advance. |

Pretty good website.
I learned a lot from reading David Pogue's book "Digital Photography: The Missing Manual"
Did a lens come with the camera? I presume it's an 18-55mm lens? Use that for a year or so. After you take about 5000 pictures, you'll have an idea of what you want your second lens to be.
The best advice I can give is to play with the camera a lot, take lots of pictures. Don't be afraid of manual mode.
Long shutter speed = more light
Small aperture number = more light
High ISO = More light |

I'm still learning about lenses but found out. If there's 2 numbers on the lense (ei) 18-25, it's the range of the lens from the sensor. One number means just fixed. Well that's the basics that I've learned. The higher the second number, the higher zoom you'll have. |
