Hi,

Just wondering if there any English language movies that I'm missing at the moment?

The ones that I'm aware of are those listed on the Yeogiyo.com.

The Debt
Stone
Reel Steel
Mr Popper's Penguins
The Three Muskateers

Are there any others?

Is it just me are is there a bad scarcity of films at present, or is it always like this?

Film is my passion so it's frustrating to not be able to go see films regularly.

Go to cgv.co.kr and check the listings. They are even showing old classics like Singing in the Rain, Casablanca, and Rebel Without a Cause at select theaters.

Google is also now displaying showtimes for movies in Korea. (CGV, Megabox, Lotte Cinema..etc).

You can hit the translate option on your browser if you cant read hangul yet.

All showing at all times at the good ol' Pirate Bay!

I don't know why, but somehow mention of The Pirate Bay always brings a smile and a chuckle to people's faces.

Isn't In Time playing pretty much everywhere right now? Not that it looks particularly good or anything.

Nobody's mentioned The Tree Of Life? Seriously? One of the most ambitious and remarkable films of our time. Total game-changer... like it or hate it. I found it absolutely staggering, though some will find it pretentious and self-indulgent. Malick is amazing.

Drive and Moneyball come out in a few weeks. The three movies of the year I'm most psyched for, all out in the same few weeks. Life is good.

Where's Tree of Life on? Thought it wasn't out til the 17th...

And how do you look up movie times on Google, does anyone know? Can't see a translate button as even if I google "google.com english" first, the results still come up in hangeul.

On lotte cinema's website, I can't copy the movie name to paste into google as its flash, not normal text.

I can read hangeul fairly well but if I don't know which movie name to be looking for, sometimes I can't read it so well.

Tree Of Life came out at Megabox on... October 27th, I believe, or maybe the week before that. I think I saw a sign for it at CGV as early as last Thursday.

I saw Warrior last week. It was good... full of cliches, been done a hundred times (underdog sportsman/team), but it was done well.

Hey,

Thanks for that. Trying to look at Megabox site now. What's Warrior called in Korean. Is it a straight translation = jeonsa 전 사 ?

I'm still in the US and there's nearly nothing out worth watching at the moment, so it's not really Korea's fault.

To cinephiles, nothing beats the exprience of being inside a cinema itself.

It's to us what a church, bar or sauna or all three are to others, a sanctum.

I had to turn it off after about twenty minutes. I can dig art house, at times, but it was a bit over the top. Even Sean Penn said he didn't know what he was doing there.
