This has probably been posted before but search isn't working for me.
Is there any kind of adapter or power box that I need to get so that I can play US video game consoles over here? I don't want my console to get busted. |

I've heard xbox systems have dual voltage GPU so you can just go to yongsan probably and buy a korean version power brick. I have a korean PS3 but as far as I can tell if you have a US one then you would need an adapter, I'd recommend one with a fuse built-in. If its a Wii then.....leave it at home. |

That's what I was figuring. Do I need a Korean brick or can I just plug a converter tip onto the plug? |

As other posters have said, PS3's don't need any sort of voltage converter. Also PS3 power cables are the same cables that power PCs/many electronic devices. Just buy a korean 2-pin ended one from any of a million stores, or use a simple plug adaptor for your American socket. |

Have a look at the power brick, it should either give you a range between 100~240V or it'll say 100~130V. If it's the former then all you need is a cheap plug converter (i.e., from this: | | to this: o o). If it's the latter you'll need a voltage converter, shouldn't run you more than 50k though.
Also, if it's an Xbox360 you'll have to import some games since they're region-locked. |

What this guy said. Import the games and just buy either a step-up voltage convertor or a new powerbrick when you get here. You can tell how many watts you need because it should say on the 360 somewhere. It can be a rather expensive ordeal. I'm hoping you just got the limited edition modern warfare 3 console otherwise you can probably score a cheap second hand one here. |

got my xbox shipped to me, plugged it in and fried the power box, bought another one that was a different generation (didn't even fit into the back fo my box), found a third in Busan that worked. BUsan and the electronic market in seoul should have them or any other video game retailer. |

I have a US xbox 360 for sale with about 8 or 9 older games. to stay on topic, yes you need a voltage converter to use it -- and mine comes with it. PM for details |

Reviving my old thread because I have a new question.
I got a US 360 plugged into a 100W Down converter. I noticed the converter gets ridiculously hot and even started to melt a little bit. Am I just using my Xbox too much or is it a faulty converter? |

Or get it modded and download your games. |

Stop now! You need a much higher watt converter. |
