Apologies if this is on the wrong forum, feel free to move it if it is...
One of my high school students has asked me where he can study for an IELTS exam, as he wants to go to University in England when he graduates next year.
I said I'd find out for him, but as I've only been in Korea for 4 months, I haven't got much of an idea where to start... can anyone recommend a good place to study for IELTS in Seoul? We are based in Seongbuk Gu.
Thanks! |

Either the British Council (BC) or google.

You can teach it. They test for it.

British Council in Gwangwhamun (check out the website). They run lots of IELTS classes at different levels. He can also find out about British universities there. Tell him not to go to a Korean crammer as he'll be taught to memorize loads of fixed phrases that never fool the examiners. |

Thanks, I think he was actually asking me if I'd tutor him for it, but obviously I'm pretty wary of the implications for me if the authorities found out I'd taken a private job, so I was hoping I could at least find him somewhere where he could study for it. |

I teach IELTS at the British Council. Placement testing for next years classes is currently in progress. Tell your student to come down and book a test. We do the classes at the Seoul National University centre or at Gwanghwamun. |
