That guy's great.
I'd say that international finance has conquered Europe, rather than Germany... but he makes good points. Voices like his were what I'd expected to hear a lot of of when Greece's Papandreou suggested a referendum on the Greek bailout. I'm amazed by how many politicians in Europe believe that the People should have no say deciding the destiny of their nations.

The Referendum was a cop out: Papandreaou was elected by the people to make these decisions (unlike the unelected Eurocrats).

Yes, elected officials obviously have the consent of the governed to make decisions like these. However, those officials should be able to call for referendums on major decisions (especially on issues caused by the government screwing up). I don't believe that a referendum was required, my qualm was with the common reaction that a referendum was a crazy idea.
