Hello,
I have just about exhausted myself trying to search for an answer.
Your help will be greatly appreciated.

I will have an F4 visa. I plan to do some work in Korea.
My wife and child are non-Koreans.

Question:

Can my wife/child obtain an F-3 visa to stay with me in Korea?

I looked at all the websites about F-3, and they all state that F-3 is for dependents of D to E visa holders. No website mentions anything about dependents of F-4 holders.

Thank you for your help.

If I am not mistaken they will get F1 visas. Works the same way as the F3.

Thanks for the reply.

What's really puzzling me is that some websites say F4 holders CANNOT sponsor their immediate family members.

But then some appear to mention Chinese F4 holders (Koreans born in China).

Is F1 something you get automatically as a spouse of an F4 holder?

F-1 .... Visiting or joining family (방문동거)
It is not automatic. Contact your nearest Korean consulate for paperwork requirements. The process is similar to F3.

Thanks for you reply.
I will call the embassy and inquire about F1.
I hope it works out...I don't want to be in Korea by myself.

I believe on the F1, they can't get any jobs.

Your wife won't be able to work on the F1. Just an FYI.
