My CBC has two dates, one date is when the criminal check was done and one date is when it was apostilled. Which date is the expiration date?

For instance, the search on my second CBC was completed June 16, is this the expiration date? Or is it August 10th the date it was apostilled?

If it's the June 16th, then the expiration date is December 16th, right? Less than one month.

6 calendar months from date of issue. It has nothing to do with the date of legalization (when you get the apostille).

That's what I thought. I ripped my CBC up. I won't be coming back to Korea this year if ever.

I ripped up both of them and threw them away & now I am deleting my profile, because I am not coming back to Korea. So my last post. Hopefully I emailed the right person about deleting profiles.

If I didn't, moderators please delete my profile. Goodbye all!

I hope you mean literally THIS year. 2012 isn't far away. Apply for a new check NOW.

Don't give up.

Quick question.

I have been offered a contract that starts on February 23rd. My criminal check will expire on the 16th.

Will this criminal check be ok if the visa is processed before the 16th? Or does the 6 month period have to include up until you enter the country?

My job search in the summer was derailed by my documents not being ready, so as a precaution I've already ordered a new check which will be apostilled by the end of next week. I just want to know if I've wasted my money or not.

On the desk at immigration and processed before its 6-month expiry date and you are good.

The start date of the job is not relevant (can be as much as 6 months beyond the expiry of the CBC).

VIN has a 90 day expiry after issuance.
visa has a 90 day expiry (with 1 year validity).
180 days is darn close to 6 months AFTER immigration has processed your CBC.

Why do you care? I RIPPED IT UP & THREW IT AWAY. Yeah, 2012 isn't far away but I'm not coming back in 2012. I don't know why it's hard to believe Koreans treated me like sh** while I was in Korea. Just like how I got treated at my university. The two are probably related since I showed an interest in modern Southeast Asian history.

Moreover, I've had my CBCs since late August, so the fact that I don't have a job means that my attempts to get a job have been blocked. Of course, the culprit is University of South Carolina History Department. If the US is the greatest country in the world, why is everyone treated like an Enemy of the State, like those students at UCal-Davis, and everything is a threat. Protesting or working abroad should not be a threat. It really makes you question how strong the US really is because their behavior is really similar to the USSR during the Cold War. Everyone is a potential enemy.

Anyway why can I still log in? I just did it to check my profile.

Are you claiming that your university and the US Government have blacklisted you from getting an ESL job?

I'm going to guess there's other reasons why you're not getting work. Rolling Eyes
