I'll be sending out my documents to my school today for a position that begins at the end of February. After I receive my visa issuance number, when will I have to go to the Korean consulate to get the visa put into my passport? I'm wondering because I'll need my passport at the beginning of February for a trip and I'm not sure if there will be any interference. |

You can get your actual visa placed into your passport up to 90 days prior to your entry into Korea (they have a 90 day expiry with a 1 year validity).
Your visa confirmation number has a validity period of 90 days (you need to get your visa within 90 days of the number being issued).
If your job starts in Feb then you can get your visa any time after Dec. 3 and be fine. Any time in January would work and not interfere with your intended travel dates or your visa application for your trip to Korea.
It should, depending on what Korean consulate you go to, any where from overnight to 4 days to get the actual visa placed into your passport.

Thank you ttompatz.
I was unsure since I've only come across accounts of people getting their visas placed in their passports days before their departure. |
