I can't believe I only started using this the other day, after 4 years in total living in Korea. If you're a heavy user of the Seoul Metro, you can pay 39,600 won for 60 trips. Even a big 1300 won journey will just cost you 1 trip. The only catch is, you have a month to use them. I probably take 3 or 4 trips per day anyway, so for me, its perfect.
They're on sale at the station office, ask for 정기권 (jeonggi-gwon). The card itself costs 2,500 won, and thereafter, you just charge it up like a T-money card.
If this is all completely obvious, and you all know about this already, then forgive my ignorance... |

I can't believe you didn't know about this either!?!? WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?!?
People mention these every year or so, but the problem is, the vast majority of us don't use the subway every single day for a journey more than the base fare, which is the only way it's really worthwhile. It's really useful for commuters who live more than the base fare away from work. Even if they don't use all 60, if they live far enough, they saev some money.
Useful post for the rare few on here that fall into that category.
so... BUMP! |
