|
|
Hi,
I have heard conflicting stories about whether it is actually possible to get a one-year contract for an iPhone, so I am just wondering if anyone knows some concrete information about it (and, if so, where to obtain one)?
If it is not the case, is it possible to buy a brand new iPhone in full price from one of the phone stores, WITHOUT having to sign up for a two-year contract? I have heard that all I would need to do is just buy a 'Sanbool' card and use that for the particular phone, and then I would be good to go.
Any information on the matter would be extremely helpful! |

Don't ask this question here. You're going to get loads of misinformation from idiots that think they know everything about Korea because they've been here 8 months.
The smart and reliable thing to do is to call KT, the iphone service provider's foreigner customer service center and they can give you correct and direct answers to all of your iphone contract questions. |

What KT themselves will tell you is:
NO!
It is only a 2 year contract.
How can I claim that "I know everything"?
Because I work at a KT branch. |

This is what I'm talking about. This poster claims to work at a KT branch, but I dare you to call KT's foreigner service center and they will tell you something different. |

You can get it but you have to pay for it upfront. Most of the new smartphones require the 2-year plan but if you have more than 6 months on your visa it is possible to get one. |

I went to a few KT branches and they all told me that I needed a 2 year contract.
I called the KT foreigner's customer service center and they told me I HAVE to purchase the iphone at full price to get a short term contract.
But don't listen to me or anyone on these forums. Go to the source KT.
And don't go to a branch. These branch employees don't know their own business. |

Why don't you go visit Drew10's branch and get a 1 year contract from him directly? Then you can both be right! |

KT English customer service don't know what they're talking about when it comes to phone contracts. I found that the most helpful/knowledgeable person is the guy behind the olleh_expats Twitter account. |

So you pretty much come here to make personal attacks against me and link a website that lists the actual store I work for and 2 affiliate stores (1 of which being a global store) as good resources?
Go ahead and call them.....They'll give you the same information I just did. |
