|
|
Hello all,
I wonder if anyone can help me with this?
I asked my university to send me my transcripts and they have sent me a letter confirming that I studied there and the degree that I got along with a breakdown of the courses I studied and the grades attained for each year with an added note which says (and I quote)
'Please note that the university's records for this period (I graduated in 1991) are not computerised and many are incomplete, this letter therefore stands in place of a formal transcript. The information it contains having been transposed from the original examination boards. If you require any further information please do not hesitate to contact me.'
It's signed by the academic registrar.
Would this be acceptable to Korean immigration and if not are there any suggestions as to what I can do?
Thank you,
Ian. |

Surely I can't be the only person ever to be in this situation? Has no-one had to deal with something like this? Maybe I'm just too old! |

Immigration doesn't care and doesn't want your transcripts any more (haven't for a year or two now).
For immigration you will need a CBC with an apostille affixed and a (photo)copy of your degree with an apostille affixed.
You MAY need that letter (in place of your transcripts) when you actually apply for your visa if this is your first E2 and depending on your local consulate (probably yes in Canada; probably no elsewhere).

Ttompatz - thank you very much for taking the time to reply. Phew, that's a relief. I envisaged myself drowning in a sea of paperwork and bureaucracy. |

Reputable universities have computerized their academic records by now. |

Completely unnecessary to make such a disparaging remark. |

Where are you working? I appllied for Gyeongnam EPIK, and they wanted transcripts. He opened them up and didn't understand any of them. I did a graphic design course and the course topics were a tad confusing! |
