Hello, I saw a post for public schools in Gimhae, and wondered if anyone had any experience there. I would like to avoid another small town atmopshere with nothing to do but drink Smile "im allergic!" any information you could give would be appreciated.

I live in Gimhae right now. It's definitely not a small town. There are over half a million people here and it's about 30-45 min to Busan by light rail or bus. Pretty much anything you want to do from ice skating to hitting the beach is within an hour's radius.

I live about 40 minutes from Gimhae and often go there on the weekends to visit my favorite Indian and Thai restaurants. There are a lot of South and Southeastern Asias working at the factories around Gimhae, so lots of different Asian foods, shops and restaurants. The new light rail makes it easy to get to and from the airport and Busan. As was stated earlier, it's not a small town. There's plenty to do in Gimhae.

Do you know if there is a good language program for learning Korean in Busan?

Is Gimhae close enough to Busan to be able to take Korean classes in Busan?

I haven't tried any Korean courses in Busan, but it's the second largest city in Korea. There are bound to be plenty of good language courses. I think one example would be KLIFF:

Anyway, Gimhae is certainly close enough to commute to classes on the weekends, and probably weeknights too depending on your schedule and the class location. You can get from Naeoe-dong in Gimhae to Dongnae in Busan by bus in about 30-45 minutes depending on traffic.
