I am thinking of buying a kindle. I don't have wi-fi at my place at the moment. I am not sure when or if I'll install it. There are so many different Kindles I see out there. There's the DX, 3G, Wi-Fi.
I am not sure which one to purchase.
And what about protectors? |

| I have the previous generation keyboarded kindle. I'd recommend getting the kindle touch new version, not the fire. touchscreen controls are pretty much all I wish I had, and the keyboard takes up too much space for next to no usage. you can sync it using your computer and if you need to get wifi, coffee shops / iptime or whatever exists. |

Get the cheapest and have it sent by family. The international version Amazon will ship to you directly charges more for each book. The non-intl one works overseas and charges less. I loved e-ink for reading. Not for surfing. If you want that functionality then get an Ipad. The Fire hasnt reviewed well as surfing device.
Torrent your books. Do not buy an adapter. The computer charges it well enough. |

| Sony e-reader is more versatile, and was cheaper. |

So, you don't need 3G in Korea? I see that on Amazon that the Kindle Touch is $99 versus the 3G being 149. I could live without 3G if wi-fi in Korea would get me the books I want. |

Yes, just get the cheapest. You don't need wi-fi or 3G (wi-fi is standard, though) since you can just upload from your computer.
Unless you just absolutely HAVE to buy a new book RIGHT NOW, I don't see the need for other stuff. They have an 'experimental browser', but it's pretty much useless. You can surf on other things. |
