Can definitely vouch for LA being terrible. Been delayed or missed a flight there more than once. Really doesn't help that the international terminal is so far from the domestic ones and you have to go through security again... Also it's ugly and lacks seating in a lot of places.
I make it a point now to choose flights that go through SF or Portland, even if it's sometimes slightly more expensive. |

I've been to 5 of them. LAX, Heathrow, and Aquino all suck. Don't like any of them. De Gaulle didn't seem bad, but I haven't had to transfer through there, so maybe that's why. As for JFK, I thought it was ok but I have only flown there domestically. It is better than LaGuardia if you ask me. |

Anyone ever been to that pure piece of garbage Sukharno-Hatta in Jakarta? It's a lot worse than LAX. I've been to both several times. LAX is not that bad, it's just plain and utilitarian, which is very American. Actually I don't want any of my countries tax money being spent on ostentation. |

heathrow sucks. even the new terminal 5.
had to sit on the plane for 30 mins because they couldn't find anyone to drive the movable stairs.
beijing is a beautiful airport but i've missed flights and nearly missed more because of immigration officials.
first the doors were locked getting off the plane (gate doors), then we were sent the wrong way by an airport worker. the immi officers screwed up and about 20 of us connecting all missed our flights and had to go through immigration again. finally, they had a single xray machine working and about 2 people working it which took 40 mins to get through.
hate that airport |

I thought De Gaulle was pretty good. It was really easy to catch the train right into downtown Paris and Customs was really quick. A great airport in my opinion. |

Heathrow is horrible and interacting with the staff there can be a nightmare. Power-tripping cretins who think a uniform and badge is an excuse to exercise their barely concealed prejudices on foreigners, or the "not my job, mate" useless, pass the buck idiots who just can't be bothered. Kind of sets the tone for the whole of the country, I suppose. |

perth tries to stick you for 5 bucks to get a luggage cart plus you have to pay an airport fee to the taxi driver. |

Yeah Albuquerque Podunk Airport charges a Taxi fee also. The airport while rather small is really nice though, I wish I could get a nice cushy job there. |

I haven't been to very many major airports, and I've only been to the international terminal of O'Hare, but I hated it. The terminal is completely isolated from the rest of the airport and it takes forever to get there. And once you go through security, there are no places to eat or buy anything. I was starving waiting for my flight.
For what it's worth, in Cairo International, an attendant put my luggage on a cart and started rolling it to the terminal for me, stopped in the middle of a long covered bridge, badgered a tip from me, snatched $7 out my hand, threw my bag on the ground and left with the cart and money. I guess if I hadn't been so confused about what was happening, I might have chased him down. So yeah, that's my least favorite airport. |

Pretty much every airport in the States should be on this list. |

O'Hare functions well and has lots of nice places at the international terminal if you can afford them. |
