Yes, my contract doesn't end till next summer, but I'm already planning an escape.

I'm looking for a place to just relax for a month, but not drop a tone of cash.

Thailand is pretty played out for me. I've been there several times and while it's great and all, something new would be nice. Also, July is the rainy season there. And I want to spend every day on a beach!

South America isn't out of the question. Anyone have a good experience there?

The rest of South East Asia is also an option, but no heavy adventure travel. I like to rest on my vacations and recharge the old batteries.

Can't spend a whole lot of cash though. I'm not looking to go broke, especially since I'm planning on making the jump to Japan instead of Korea when I'm done.

So where can I go for a month in the summer and just relax on a beach, get massages, and not blow a years worth of savings??????

Yeah man, the Ionian Islands give Thailand a run for their money any day in terms of natural beauty and translucient oceans and they also have gorgeous old towns with fantastic bars and coffee shops that weren't built just for tourits. (Not knocking Thai islands, they rock.)

God damn, I hate these threads, now I want to go to Zakynthos and kaffellonia Sad

The light there is stunning. This isn't even photoshopped (click on the little photo at the top of a cove, to enlarge it)

The colours of the hills and the olive groves etc are just amazing.

Sri Lanka!

Lovely beaches...really cheap places to stay...great food...

I rented a furnished house 1 block from the beach in Negombo for $130 a month.

A great place to relax!

If you want more info, pm me!
