I need advice please.

I am currently working a fairly gruelling schedule and it is going to get worse next week. Admittedly it is self inflicted as I am trying to save for my wedding as well as study Korean. Basically involves 10 hour days on tuesday and thursday and 9 hour days monday, wednesday and friday.

I have just knocked drinking on the head, in the week anyway and always go to bed about 10.30 - 11, depending on the schedule the next day.

I still feel tired and feel like I am walking around like a corpse most of the time. I do take a multi-vitamin in the morning and don't want to end up living off these tonics, such as bacchus, to stay awake - been there, seen that a coupe of years ago. I would rather do it naturally. Coffee keeps me awake but leaves me feeling ratty and irritable at the end of the day.

Are there are any vitamins or minerals that help tiredness? I have heard vitamin B mentioned before. Is this true?

I don't know about vitamins & such, but the only way I get through a schedule like that (which I've done many a summer) is to take cat naps. Find two or three times in your day where you can take a 10 minute nap. It won't completely cure your fatigue, but it'll take the edge off and help you make it through the day.

hmmm, 47 hours per week? I'll swap! Normally 50-60 for me, and often Saturdays, Sundays, PH's etc ....

(But I'm not a teacher)

Nor am I a doctor/dietician but, if your diet is rice based, vitamin B could help. If you find the humidity uncomfortable, drink loads of water and perhaps even take salt tablets.

When I am most tired I get up early the next day and go for a swim in the ocean. It wakes me up and rejuvenates me for the entire day, like it did this morning.

So, I guess exercise is my advice.

I have been taking melatonin to get to sleep at a decent hour, but I STILL wind up napping. Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad
I hate it.

Edit to change the word to "decent" and not the one that looked more like "demented."

Hydrate obsessively (3-4 litres per day), take raw ginseng a few times per week, eat less, but smarter, avoid too much sugar, don't sleep too much and exercise when you can.
Just my ideas.

Exercise is the answer. Do it in the morning.

It gives you more energy cause you get in better shape, your body uses its food better, you will sleep better, your intake of water will increase, and it blows stress away. Usually tiredness is just the result of gradual stress and sleeping doesn't beat this.

Apart from the obvious, eating right, exercise, and proper sleep habits,

One little trick I use is to dump a bottle of that orange energy drink, the one with all the vit. C (comes in an orange bottle, forget the name) into a 2 liter bottle of water.

Mix it up and drink throughout the teaching day. Keeps you hydrated and adds a bit of kick (but not too much).

Sure beats drinking plain old water.

So sex, no sexual actions. Don't get horny. Eunuchs live longer than average men, and on a small scale it keeps one from needing too much sleep.
