SEOUL, Jan. 3 (Yonhap) -- South Korea's budget carrier Air Busan Co. said Tuesday that it will inaugurate passenger flight services to China for the first time in March.

The company -- a subsidiary of Asiana Airlines Inc., the country's No. 2 flag carrier -- said daily flights are planned between South Korea's largest port of Busan and Qingdao, a key industrial hub in northeastern China.

"Because there are only three weekly flights directly linking the two cities, many passengers have to transfer and use connecting flights from Incheon International Airport," the airline company said.

The new daily direct flights could make two-way air travel more convenient, which can benefit businesses and the tourism industry, the carrier said.

Air Busan, meanwhile, said that it plans to increase international flights to Japan and Southeast Asia within the year, and lease two more Airbus jets in March and October, respectively, to augment its current seven-plane fleet.

I've flown with them 3 or 4 times to Jeju and Osaka, and other than being delayed once 20-30 minutes, they've been great. If you buy early, you can usually get much cheaper tickets than from Korean or Asiana. I also prefer the more relaxed, playful attitude of the attendants to that of Korean's polite but serious attendants.
When they increase their flights to Japan, I hope they add Okinawa or Sapporo. Korean flies to Sapporo from Incheon but it's about $660, which seems ridiculous to me for a 3 hour flight.
