but really, the melody sounds different. i have no idea what the lyrics in the 2ne1 version mean, but the only similarity i see is the title. |

| It's all just 'borrowing'. If some manager finds a tune they like they will pay for rights and regurgitate it for the local seen. Happens all the time. And unlike what many posters here think, the original isn't always the American version. |

I didn't really found the previous examples much similar. They might have a similar feel or share a few phrases, but if that meant it was plagiarism, pretty much every trot song would plagiarise every trot song made before. They usually share both melody/rhythm and lyrics with other songs.
I feel like I'm a loner from CNBlue took it to another level. It's like copying the opening strophe of F�r Elise and claim it's just a coincidence. CNBlue' songwriters should have accredited YNOT as an inspiration or melody source. I don't know if that would trigger large royalty costs, but YNOT was only asking for 50 million in their law suit and would probably settle for a lot less if they volunteered. |

Gotta wonder if they even actually HEARD the (better) 2NE1 version. Living in Korea, WE heard it all the time. Not necessarily so in the rest of the world. If they did hear it and then proceeded to use the same phrase with the same melody as their main vocal hook then that's pretty sad. The rest of the song isn't alike at all though. It's pretty common for Asian artists to copy, so it's funny to see it the other way around if that's actually what truly happened. (Yes, the "everyone copies" line applies, but some copy more than others don't they?)
But when the main vocal hook is "I don't care" it's kinda hard to not sound similar to the other version. Seriously, sing it in several different ways, it sounds similar almost every time. |

Canadians and Americans are the same. Vancouver could be any city in the US. IF you watch a lot of Hollywood movies, Vancouver IS any city in the US. Canadians and Americans are the same. I'm from Virginia and I have more in common with Canadians than say other Americans from the Southwest.
People from both Canada and US will vehemently deny it, but the rest of the world can't tell an American and a Canadian apart. Hell, Americans and Canadians can't tell each other apart. |

| Eh, besides the phrase "I Don't Care", it doesn't sound that similar. The 2NE1 song uses a pretty common and simplistic chord progression so it's entirely possible to accidentally create a similar song. |

As an American who has lived in Canada, I can tell Canadians and Americans apart without much difficulty. There are differences, they just aren't apparent to those who haven't spent a lot of time in mixed company. |
