Apologies in advance if I'm being dense with the following question.

I currently work in a Hagwon and I've been casually looking into public school jobs for my return visit to Korea next year as I was led to believe the vacation time is a lot more palatable. I know my students get 1 month off school for each vacation block, so why do PS jobs only seem to indicate 2 weeks of vacation time (+national holidays) on advertisements? Is this down to this 'deskwarming' business I've heard about?

Cheers!

Deskwarming and/or winter and summer camps, this is all up to the principal. In my case, I negotiated a standard overtime amount because I wanted a higher salary. This just meant I was teaching instead of deskwarming during scheduled hours. Maybe you can't do that now, but it's worth a try.

Most P.S jobs involve winter and summer camps. Most students get the time off/go to hakwons but some will continue to go to school for the camps...which you will teach. Most P.S jobs offer anywhere from 18-21 days of vacation plus 2 weeks off at the end as well.
