|
|
| I applied with several different recruiters and a few of them started sending me job positions to apply for without even interviewing me. Should I be suspicious of this? Does this mean they are not as reputable of recruiters? To me it would make sense that they at least speak with me before they try to find me jobs--as other recruiters have done. Any opinions? |

Recruiters are not the people hiring, they are the middle men who make money from a school that hires you. Remember they do not work for you. They may try to keep you happy but once your are hired and a little grace come passes, they do not care about you.
If a recruiter could get a hagwon to hire a syphilitic black Irish transvestite, they would.
Also sounds like that these recruiters are also shotgunning. Throw out something and just maybe it will stick. Sometimes that is the first phase. Also are you worth looking at or dealing with. Are you in Korea, do you fulfill some requirement that a school would take. If no they lower your priority and toss some alternatives. Remember sometimes the majority of us ESL teachers of us are a dime a dozen.
One point is recruiters are can be regional. The jobs that they give will usually bend towards a certain area. |

| Recruiters are looking for a mark to sign a predatory contract. They don't care about you or the school. Their aim is to make commission ($1,000 per sucker they find) as quickly as possible and with as little effort on their part as possible. |

Um, it's a little strange, but as long as they're corresponding with you... |

| I don't think it makes a difference. Only one recruiter ever asked me for an interview and that was before I'd started teaching. Now I have qualifications and experience I guess there's really no need for an interview. If you look good on paper an interview is probably not necessary. |

| Normal, just wait until they set you up with school interviews and the first thing you hear over the phone is "so are you going to come work for us?". |
