So Incheon has a package of mine- a laptop- has sent me a letter. I'm pretty sure they want ransom. But, they apparently can't figure out how much it's worth. So they ask me how much I've paid for it, among other things. Thing is, if they already know, then why ask? Of course, I'd like to pay as little as possible for it, but also want my baby returned as safely as possible without any missing teeth, stolen fingers.
So for others whose items have been held by the post service for ransom AND have been asked the approximate worth of the thing, what did you list? like really- why do they ask? are they playing games with me to see what I'd say? is this a sociological study? |

Go there and inspect the package. The SOB's are brutal with packages. If the thing works and hasn't been smashed then you're damm lucky. |

I would were I located anywhere NOT in Busan. bah.
So, I quote the price I bought the thing for, $80 less than the amount with shipping cost. Customsman called and asked me the price. I stuck to my story. THEN he decided to WHAM me with the declared amount, including shipping. I'm thinking, right. Told the guy that the thing was a gift from someone back home and that they told the supplier to send the thing directly to me. Managed to get a VAT at product cost, NOT total. Will see how the quality is once the thing arrives. Eep. |
