Hey all, I'm new to all of this recruiting and esl job applying.
Vivacom Recruiting Agency emailed and called me about job postings. I went to their website to submit an application (just to join the agency, not applying to a particular job yet) and they wanted my passport number.
Is that normal? I assumed I'd have to give it when I got a job, but not to a recruiting agency before landing a job.
Thanks for any help! |

| It's not normal, but I don't think it is unreasonable. I would offer it after you decide on a school though. There is no need for them to have any personal information until you actually have a school. |

| It is pretty normal to include a scan of the first page of your passport (ya know, the picture and number part) as part of the APPLICATION package, so a recruiter asking for a passport number would not even make a blip on my radar...and I am a strong proponent of controlling access to one's own personal information.... |
