Hey everybody,

I'm a Canadian that taught for one year in Korea and finished my contract in September 2011. I have been traveling for the past few months, and now I'm thinking of returning for a second year.

Do I have to submit all the same documentation I did the first time around? The notarized degree, university transcripts, etc?

Also, do I have to submit a criminal record check? I haven't been in Canada since I left for Korea. Will I need to go back to Canada to get the record check if I need it?

Thanks for your help,

John

If you have been out of Korea for more than 90 days when your application lands on the desk at immigration then you need to submit a full, new set of documents (degree copy with Korean consulate certification, CBC with Korean consulate certification).

You don't need to return to Canada for new documents BUT it may be MUCH faster (by several months) if you do.

Thanks for the info. I don't think I'm coming back! That is a huge pain in the ass. I'm going to look into other countries.
