Do we need a new CBC every year if we change jobs, even if we dont go back to our countries at all? Im American, you guys know how long it takes to get the CBC. My school says they will re sign me, but they wont actually give me the paperwork until about a month before my contract ends. This forces me to trust them (I've been in Korea long enough to know thats never a good option) or get a new CBC just in case they change their minds. However, getting a new CBC is a huge pain, especially doing it from Korea. I would probably need to use an appostile service again which, with shipping, costs around 250 dollars all together. I just put a CBC on file 4 months ago, and my contract is up in March. I dont plan on going home in that time. Can I transfer a visa without a new CBC if I need to or can I get a Korean CBC since I have been in Korea this whole time?

As long as you don't need a new visa you are (according to Kimmi) good for 10 years.

i) You can transfer to a new job at the end of your contract
ii) You can switch to a D10 at the end of your contract while you are looking for a new job
iii) You can transfer earlier than your contract completion with a LOR
iv) You can renew/extend your current status at the same employer.

without the need for a new CBC.

You will need a copy of the apostilled CBC and degree for the MOE/POE but a copy of the one on file at Kimmi is adequate for E2 holders (cost you 300 won at your local Kimmi office).
