A permanent arrangement has been made. Thank you to those who were willing to help.

| The dog (sounds rather like a shi-tzu or shi-tzu cross, from the description) might be lost. Ask the vet to check online listings of lost dogs and also post information about the dog. It's obviously been trained and cared for, so it could be that it somehow got out and got lost. The vet will also put a "found" poster in the window of the clinic, and if nobody turns up to claim the dog within a certain period of time, that poster will become an "available for adoption/분양" poster. |

| Sounds like someone lost their pet. Maybe take a picture and put up poster found lost dog. I bet someone comes forward. Make sure it's in Korean as well as English. |

snowgoose....that sounds like a good idea. I talked to the vet about it, but he didn't know anything about online listings. If you could help me with that, I would appreciate it. I'd be happy to send you a picture. I'll also get my kids looking.
Just in case, though, I'm still going to pursue finding a new home. I can't keep her for long.
According to my vet, she's 2-3 years old. She appears healthy, although she's on the small size for a shi-tzu (3.5kg). He wasn't clear on if he thought she was just small or if it was from wandering for a bit.
Her eyes are a little irritated and he gave me drops for that. |

Gwangju area might be different to Seoul, so there could be a different system. Nevertheless there are some websites such as the KAPS website etc. It's weird that the vet doesn't know anything about it. I'll check out what there is in Gwangju.
And try posting on Animal Rescue Korea's website (animalrescuekorea.org) so that you can find a foster home in the meantime. If not, another vet clinic might take her in (that's the procedure in Seoul, which has no shelters, but utilizes vet clinics as temporary holding places for found pets). Also, there are some Korean animal welfare groups and dog groups, and you can find foster homes there I think. |

Is anyone in the Gwangju area willing to foster her until I can sort things out? I'm willing to do the leg work to either find her owner or find her a new home, but I really can't have a dog in my apartment. She's very friendly and will adapt well. I have a collar, leash and food for her.
Please let me know asap if you can host her for a little while! I would like to have her settled before the weekend. |

BUMP...
UPdate: my students are helping me try to find her owner, but I really need to have her out of my apt asap.
PLEASE let me know if you can foster her. She really is a sweetheart. I have enough food to last awhile and a leash and collar. |

| Post on the Animal Rescue Korea website (animalrescuekorea.org). And ask your students to put it on dog welfare cafes online. There are also postings looking for foster homes on there as well as adoptions. |
