I am arriving in Korea either on the 30th or 31st. I am going to be living in Daegu, are there English Catholic churchs in the area. If so could someone write out a translation for me so I can show it to a taxi driver please.

I do know that English PROTESTANT Churches exist in Daegu... UNFORTUNATELY I do not remember the addresses... it's been a while.

As for Catholic, I haven't heard specifically of an all English church but some of them do cater to Foreigners with headsets that translate the sermons.

Sorry I wish I could be of more help to you but I'm 2 years out of Daegu.

Never been but I go this info from the web
Daean Catholic Church is located in Jung-gu, Daegu, Korea. Sunday mass at 2pm is conducted in English and Tagalog. A very popular church for Filipinos working at factories in Daegu and the surrounding area, with over 250 attending mass every weekend.

053-252-6249

Come out of Exit 4 of Jungangno Station and take your 2nd left. Then take your first right after a few hundred meters. Then take your next left. The church will be further down on the right.

There is also one Banwoldong (downtownish) near the Eddis Hotel, it is a small brick church near the giant Christian church. No english service.

I just called the number provided by bobranger and spoke with the priest (I think that's who it was). He told me that the English Mass is every Sunday at 2 p.m.

Using the same phone number, I checked on Daum's map site and got the following address for the church (대안성당/Dae-an Seong-dang):

대구 중구 대안동 31-11
Dae-an Dong, Jung-gu 31-11

Send me a PM with your e-mail address and I'll send you a map in Korean and English. If you happen to know the phone number or name of your school, I can also include instructions by bus and subway from your school to the church.
