|
|
Anyone out there who would like to have a large dog (young retriever, under 1yr) as a jogging buddy and general house companion, just for a few months, or even a shorter time period?
Posting this for someone else. This dog (currently in Seoul) needs a temporary home due to restrictions on the housing of the owner (this will last a few months until the owner leaves that housing).
BENEFITS: NO COSTS! NO VET FEES! No longterm responsibility, no need to pay for the cost of getting a dog home on a plane and no hassles organizing papers and shots. No need to run around looking for a new home a few weeks before you leave Korea. The owner will take care of all costs and the dog is young and in good health, vaccinated etc. Food, toys and stuff will be provided. Great for the active person or person who wants some motivation to get active, jog/bike and get into shape.
PM if you're interested or leave a message and I will PM you. |

Hi, I could be interested but the only problem is that I'm in Geoje (so quite a bit of travel involved for one or both parties). |

Oh man, I'm definitely interested!
How large is the dog now? Is it a boy or a girl? Does it have all its shots? Potty trained?
How long would this "temp" thing be? Where are you located? When would this start?
....In hindsight, I guess I should've posted this as a PM, but I'm also not sure if I can send messages yet.... |

Not this dog. The novelty of cuteness wears off when a girl's expensive bag or shoes or whatever gets shredded or chewed up by the dog or its muddy paws ruin a dress when it jumps on them. It's not a chubby puppy anymore anyway, it looks full-grown.
Thanks for that input - I was hoping for more sincere interest in keeping a dog as company though. |

A less honest person would dump the dog on this "temporary owner" while he looks for "new housing". Really if this is a bait and switch to get a dog off one's hands without the guilt of sending the pup to a shelter....it is really ingenious. |

Not my dog. I'm just helping. However I do know about this dog and his habits. Somebody with patience, some time and good dog handling skills could do much better with him. It's not for the average person probably, or the newbie dog owner. Except for the behavior problems, he's a cheerful and extremely friendly (to everyone) though somewhat clueless dog, but he's still a puppy - just a huge, adult-looking one.
Anyway, the dog is about to get some professional training so that should smooth away some of the biggest problems. And no, it's not some plan to get shift the dog permanently onto someone else. |
