Yeah thanks.
I need to write an autobiography for this job I am looking into. Has anyone ever had to do this? What should be focused on...what should be avoided?
Please clue me in.
Thanks |

An autobiography is a book about your life. Better get typing! |

If you're a perfect little angel.
I would never reveal anything to a potential employer that could put me in a negative light. Unless the job is bouncer, or gangster or something, then you should be badass! |

Whatever you do, make sure you include a chapter about how you run everywhere shirtless. |

Once again details! How much do they want. A page, a essay, a book? What kind of job are you applying for. Do you know how to BS?
I think this can be used three ways. One to check teachers technical anility with language. Two, gets some details about person from characteristics to education. Three weed out the crazies, lazies, and whatever ies comes to mind. |

Damn you beat me to it!
Include how you run past schools shirtless for cheap thrills too.
As for the topic....keep it focused on aspects from your life that meet the requirements of the job you are looking into.
I doubt any employer wants an applicant's entire life story...most likely what they are talking about is some sort of intent letter or description of why they should hire you.
Do make sure their dresscode accomodates shirtless runners however. |

Yeah ok thanks for the replies.
I do hope I get this position.
It's a university but it is not in Korea.
I found out yesterday that they want me to teach there. The application with the autobiography is just a formality I guess.
In terms of the shirtless part of things they were impressed with my involvement in physical activities....and how I looked - especially the female students -> they saw me with a tank top. I guess word got out because the next time I went in they asked if I could be part of their PE program and the fact that it includes swimming really got my engines pumping! |

Ok well if it is a University then what they most likely want is something that shows them why they should hire you, what your experiences would bring to the institution and so on.
Oh and you should be careful because most Universities do not allow instructors to fraternize with the students....then again University students are already a bit too old for you based on previous posts, oh and they tend to have opinions of their own too...still good luck. |

Too old? Maybe in most places but not at all in the country where I am going to teach. In fact, I am considered young by their standards - even for the university age. That's their opinion so there is no need to dictate ...Just go along with it and smile |

Exactly - who cares about his shirtless running. If I were on that hiring committee, I'd want to hear all about his cradle robbery.
Good luck w/ the job, Baby Face Nelson! |

Too old for me?
Freshman at age 18? Not too old for me.
And that is legal too.
Don't worry I got all the bases covered. I handle things professionally.
