i saw a 'dream view' in emart the other day.
37 inches for 450,000 (i think 37 inches). whatever movie they were showing looked great and i couldn't tell any real difference in the samsung it was sitting next to.
samsung was 720,000 for the same size.
what am i missing out on for 300k extra by buying the samsung? after service, quality and the name?
ever had any experience with a cheap flatscreen? |

I just recently bought a TIVA 47 Inch LED...it was about 500 or 600k cheaper than some of the LG or Samsung TVs of the same size. What the TIVA doesn't have is some of the gimmicky features of fancy TVs. However, I can say, the TV's picture is gorgeous and everything looks as good as I could hope for.
Some of the no-name TVs use LG brand panels in their TVs (think Libero (?) is one) but mine doesn't. Still looks amazing though.
I've only had it a short time but I'd strongly recommend it. By the by, I also have a no-name gaming laptop I got here in Korea which had much better hardware than anything else in the same price range and it's been great too. I never put much stock in brand names. |

For you, the consumer, what you lose with buying a no-name TV is the resale value.
For the enthusiast, the no name brands lack some functionality, digital processing/filters, and advanced picture stuff. Also, not all LCD's are created the same. When an LCD screen comes off the production line, it is rated depending on its brightness, response, contrast, dead pixels, etc... A rated screens go to the major brands. B and C screens go to the no name brands.
So, while Interslice Tech does have an "LG Screen", it could be the C quality screens made at an LG plant.
Every TV buff will tell you the same thing. Go look at the picture. If you are happy with it, then buy it.
My Samsung LCD was perfectly fine, or so I thought. It wasn't until I bought a laptop with an LED screen did I realize that the LCD was not very bright and the colors weren't as vibrant. It was an old LCD TV.
If I had NOT seen that LED screen to compare, I would have never noticed any problems. |
